Cantina di Solopaca

The Cantina di Solopaca is one of the oldest agricultural cooperatives in Campania. With about 120,000 hectoliters of wine produced, it ranks first in regional production.

The vineyards are located in a vast area which, starting from the municipality of Solopaca, involves 16 other neighboring municipalities, reaching a total vineyard area of about 1300 hectares. In this area Solopaca DOC is grown, the first wine in Sannio to have obtained the recognition of controlled origin (DOC) in 1974. The cultivated varieties are Falanghina, Aglianico, typical vines of the Benventano Sannio area, but also Greco and Fiano. In recent years, traditional vines such as Coda di Volpe and Barbera have also been rediscovered.

The Municipality of Solopaca lies at the foot of the Taburno Camposauro Regional Park, in the province of Benevento, in an area formerly known as Sannio, which has always been suited to viticulture. On the Solopachese hills the fabulous "Solopaca Doc" is born here, whose history is lost in the mists of time... even Gioacchino Murat, French general and King of Naples, who tasted the Solopaca wine, was exalted to the point of comparing the overwhelming power of wine to that of his brother-in-law Napoleon.

The cultivated grapes are harvested with traditional systems and transferred to the cellar where, after careful selection, they are vinified and bottled. The oenological plant is equipped with state-of-the-art winemaking and bottling equipment and a cellar where the red wines are aged. The company is also equipped with an autoclave room where sparkling wines and sparkling wines are produced. The structure is completed by warehouses for storing wines, a multipurpose room, and the company sales point.

The Cantina di Solopaca today offers a vast assortment of wines, divided by product lines, distributed not only in Italy but also abroad, ready to satisfy the different types of consumption, from daily use to the most sophisticated catering, combining the most ancient tradition to the most modern techniques.

From the production of the Cellar today not only the male and seducer Rosso D.O.C. is born, but also the full-bodied and velvety Aglianico, the sparkling and delicate Amabile, the mysterious and cheerful Falanghina, up to the nobility of the aristocratic Spumante "Solopaca D.O.C."
